Vet of the Month: Diana Casper

Diana Casper is a 38-year-old Hanover native and Army veteran who served from 2007 to 2010. She was a member of the 1-25th Stryker Brigade, Arctic Warriors, Phoenix Warriors, as well as functioning as a Quartermaster Soldier.

Diana trained at Fort Jackson and Fort Lee, serving in Alaska and Iraq. A flag was flown in Iraq in Diana’s honor after she assisted in battling two fires with Engine Company 311 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in May 2009. She has been awarded the following medals and ribbons: Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign
Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon.

Concerning her favorite story from her time in the service, Diana writes:

I loved being in the active Army. I have no favorites. My entire military years — they are all my favorite.
