Never Lose Sight of Your Dreams
By Kristy Bellezza
I would like to tell you a wonderful story that I hope will inspire you to follow your dreams. I have a friend who has four kids ranging in age from 10 years to 16 years. Her life has revolved around her kids, husband, housework, and her job for many years. Recently, she decided to go back to school to pursue nursing, and even though she has all the responsibilities of being a mom to four kids as well as those of a wife, she still decided to add one more endeavor to her plate and return to school for herself. When I sat down with her to interview her for this article she told me that “No matter how hard or hectic life may seem don’t ever second guess your dreams, if you are willing to do the work you can be successful with anything you want.”
Many of us will go shopping or get our nails done or just take a day to have coffee with a friend and we are happy with that time and we call it our time for ourselves, but that lifestyle’s not for this mom and wife. She’s gone above and beyond for herself in returning to school to get an education and better herself for her career. Surely, in turn it will improve her life and the lives of her children, because seeing their mom working towards that better career shows them that no matter what comes their way in life, they can accomplish anything. I know this woman very well and I give her a lot of credit for what she’s doing given all the responsibilities and tasks she already has on her plate. She is like so many women out there juggling the kids and their homework and all of the sports and activities the kids are into. On top of that she has to keep up with all the housework and take care of her husband as well as the cat and the new puppy they just brought home. And let us not forget about the grocery shopping and shopping for clothes for all four of the kids. Yet, even though she has all this on her shoulders she still finds time to go to school.
My dear friend does this without the help of food stamps or medical assistance or cash assistance. Now, please understand that I don’t wear hats, but if I did wear one, I would tip it for her because she is great inspiration to me and so many other people out there, even if they don’t tell her. So, I say to all you men and women, if she can do it there is no reason we all can’t do it. Her name is Jamie, and I want to tell her to keep up the good work and stand tall and enjoy all of her accomplishments, because she works hard for it and she is a great woman, mom, and wife, not to mention a great friend, too. Good job, Jamie I just know you will go far in your career and dreams. To all of you reading, I hope that this short story helps to inspire you to follow your dreams, no matter how hard you think it is. Just take it one day at a time and you can be successful.
