Young black male found dead on lawn at Interfaith Heights complex

Around 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning, maintenance workers at the Interfaith Heights complex on Coal Street in Wilkes-Barre found an unresponsive black male lying on the grass field directly across from Interfaith’s second level. The man was situated about 15′ from the fence separating Interfaith from the adjoining Sherman Hills facility.

EMTs arrived soon after the discovery and determined that the man, who appeared to be in his early 20s, according to the maintenance workers who found him, was deceased. A number of Wilkes-Barre police cruisers were also quickly on-scene, in addition to newly-appointed police chief Bob Hughes.
