Wilkes-Barre Police Chief Dessoye resigning

A source within King’s College, who has requested to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, has informed the Independent Gazette that Wilkes-Barre Police Chief Gerard E. Dessoye has accepted a position at King’s College and will be stepping down as chief of the WBPD.
A source close to the police department, who also wishes to remain anonymous, has confirmed that Dessoye would be departing soon, and that Detective Joseph J. Coffay Jr. would be named as Dessoye’s replacement.
The Gazette attempted to contact Liza Prokop, spokesperson for the city, to verify the information. As of the date of this publication Prokop has failed to return our call or respond to our emails.

Word on the street is you may have foiled the job appointment, which will make your story false, even if it was once correct.
