Follow-up letter to Pennsylvania legislators concerning the Voters’ Choice Act

The Independent Gazette is continuing to keep tabs on the status of Pennsylvania Senator Mike Folmer’s SB 195, the Voters’ Choice Act. Below is an email we’ve been sending to Pennsylvania Senators’ staffs.

Dear [staff member],

The Independent Gazette is following up on our initiative first published here:

http://muckrakernews.com/2013/10/voters-choice-act-letter-to-pa-state-representatives-senators/

It has come to our attention that it has not been scheduled for consideration and when polling other Senators what has been quoted is as follows: ultimately the decision lies with Republican leadership, Senators Smucker, Scarnati, and Pileggi.

This story will be published in our Scranton edition on Monday, 1/27, and followed up in our Wilkes-Barre edition 2/10 and published in our other online properties.

We will continue to poll all Senators in the state along with members of the state government committee.

We would like to schedule an interview or get a statement from the Senator on the following questions:

Is there anything more important coming out of this state government committee than insuring for free and equal elections?

Will he sign on to SB195 and lend his support?

It will most likely be a topic on our Saturday morning show on 94.3FM The Talker. The Senator is always welcome to call in on this subject or any other for that matter. Call in number is 888-677-4487.

Thank you for the cooperation,
Lou Jasikoff
