Liberty Essay Contest
As announced on the Sanity Check Radio Show
Sponsored by Luzerne County Campaign for Liberty
in conjunction with
the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Independent Gazette
Purpose: To encourage a greater understanding of our nation’s founding principles among high school students in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Contestants: Contest is open to students in 9th–12th grade who are residents of Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne, or Wyoming Counties.
Winners: 1st place, $100; 2nd place, $50; 3rd place, $25. Winning essays will be published in the Independent Gazette newspaper.
Deadline: Entries must be received by March 31, 2014. Winners will be announced in May 2014.
